Hello dear followers, it’s Eleftheria reporting from Bergolo for my last Monday Post as a Vagamondo volunteer 🌿

I’ll spare you the emotional rollercoaster of these last weeks (you can expect that in my farewell post 😝) and dive straight into the shenanigans of last week.
If I had to describe the week with one word, it would be CommunityInAction (counts as one word, right?). Our volunteers initiated and joined many activities across our little corner of Piemonte.

One of the highlights was spending a lovely day with the people of the Bonafous Foundation in Cortemilia after they invited us to join their stroll through the town, buzzing with the sounds of the Saint Catherine’s day fair 🎡

On Wednesday we made our way back to Cortemilia’s high school for another round of our Speaking Club. The students chatted with us and with each other about everything, ranging from “What shape of pasta would you be?” to the very serious “Fairy or mermaid?” debate 🧚♀️🧜♀️
Back in the office we kept working and laughing with Christmas songs in the background. In our free time we played hangman, blew bubbles (the bubble-recipe debate was intense), experimented with new hair colors and enjoyed the sunshine that blessed us almost all week long ☀️ We also stocked up on pellets to survive the cold Bergolo nights.

⛄ Just a few days later, winter officially arrived in Bergolo, and our garden changed colors from being green to white! The cozy snow really brought us together. There were moments where we were all trying to heat up our hands in front of the fire, and we had a shared 'Christmas' breakfast to celebrate the start of this period of togetherness.⛄
